LET'S MAKE OUR JOBS A LITTLE EASIER
CuratorKit is changing the library work flow one step at a time
Serving patrons is a library’s top priority. The problem is that some tasks just get in the way. Software isn’t just shift in the daily routine. It’s a way to spend more of our time focusing on our patrons.
The guy behind it all
Jason Velarde started working in libraries in 2006 and has had a love for them ever since. He obtained a Master's in Library Science from Queen's College in 2014 and in 2016, he started working as a librarian full-time.
Having worked in nearly all library departments, Jason has experienced the problems that many library staff face so he made a plan to be able to make their jobs easier and more efficient.
In December of 2021, with the goal of learning how to develop and deploy production applications, Jason became a web developer for a software firm.
With his new found knowledge in the tech industry with a focus on building accessible web applications, Jason created CuratorKit to help libraries focus more on directly serving their communities.
